Allergies in the Emergency Department
27th April 2021You may have noticed that there is a change on the front page of the website. I have been successful in my application to become a Fellow of the Expert Witness Institute (EWI)
I have been a Member of the EWI since its inception and having the required pre-requisites to apply for Fellowship, have taken the opportunity to have my experience and skills reviewed by my peers.
It certainly was slightly nerve-racking waiting to see if the anonymised report I submitted together with the required background information was of sufficient standard to qualify for the granting of Fellowship.
I finally received the confirmation that my application had been accepted last week and I was entitled to use the FEWI in my post nominal qualifications.
However this does not mean that I will not continue to learning to refine my report writing skills and my approach to undertaking carefully my responsibilities as an expert witness. Recent cases have demonstrated that complacency is one of the dangers when an expert has an established practice. The best way to prevent that occurring is to continually monitor your practice and obtain feedback from both instructing solicitors and peers.
